How to Schedule Sex Offender Registration Appointment

Taking effect immediately, all registrations are now required to be in person. Please call 720-977-5077 for any questions regarding scheduling.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment in order to complete the required paperwork. No walk-ins will be accepted. When you arrive for your appointment, please check in at the Records window in the lobby of the Thornton Police Department to begin your paperwork.

In accordance with CRS 16-22-08, the City of Thornton collects fees from the person required to register as a sex offender. Effective immediately, the following fees will be required:

o   New registration or reactivation - $75

o   Quarterly and yearly registrations - $25

o   Address changes – NO CHARGE

o   De-registrations – NO CHARGE

Cash or card are accepted and a photo ID is required. A current driver’s license, state-issued ID card, military ID or passport are acceptable forms of ID. If you are new to register, you must also bring proof of residency including a copy of your lease or a handwritten and signed note from the landlord or property owner. If you are unable to pay the fee at the time you register, you must still complete your sex offender registration by the required date.

Important: Penalties for failure to comply with mandatory sex offender registrations are substantial. In most cases, violation of the registration requirement constitutes a separate offense.
